We’ve all heard it said that losing weight is 80% nutrition.
But when have we found a way to simplify the journey of eating better?
One of my 2020 goals was to get fitter. Healthier. Stronger. And one of the big revelations that’s come for me in the last while was the need for things to be simple and consistent. (I can’t tell you how many times over the years I’ve tried to restock my pantry with all kinds of good-for-you food that I never would eat.)
S I M P L E means this: I sat down and decided what two breakfast options I could consistently choose from in the morning. I decided the same for lunch. And, I made a 31-day dinner calendar with foods my family likes to eat.
SIMPLE also means I grocery shop once a week for the specific items I need, and I now steer clear of shopping for unnecessary things. (So much better on the budget.)
C O N S I S T E N T means this: I am consistent in my daily caloric and water intake, choosing from one of two options. I am consistent with my moderate morning exercise. I am consistent in a morning routine that works for me because I crafted it. I am consistent in my sleeping. (Or at least I try to be, sometimes hormonal changes can make that challenging.)
It’s that simple. No more crazy diet fads. No more complicated recipes. I have simplified my choices, which has simplified my eating habits. I’m feeling great!
