As a leader, what three things could you start doing today to develop a leader around you?
I’m going to keep this short, sweet, and simple. It’s not an exhaustive list, but it’s doable.
Here are the three things you could start doing today:
1. Ask yourself, what types of things helped to grow me as a leader? Write those thoughts down and use them for an explorative conversation with the leader you’re committed to developing.
2. Ask yourself, what upcoming opportunity to lead can I give (insert name) to this emerging leader?
3. Do something! Have a conversation, make a plan, create an opportunity. Do something to grow the leader.
Hoping a leader grows is not a plan.
